Executive Director
Reverend Jack Smart
Jack Smart began in Teen Challenge ministry in 1979. In that
time he has served as a staff member and Assistant Director
at Teen Challenge International of Mid-America in Cape Girardeau,
Missouri. He currently serves as Executive Director of both
Teen Challenge International of Mid-America and Teen Challenge
of Missouri Boarding Academy.
He received a B. A. in Psychology from Arkansas State University
in 1976 and an M. A. in Theology at Wheaton College in 1980.
His years of adult ministry have created a desire to see
individuals reached at a much younger age in order to limit
the amount of damage inflicted in their lives by drug, alcohol
and other addictions.

Reverend Bill Vance
Bill oversees the daily operations of Teen Challenge of Missouri
Boarding Academy. He has a degree in Missions with a minor
in Bible. He has worked for Teen Challenge for nearly 12 years
as a counselor, served as pastor of a home missions church,
was Director of Teen Challenge of Wyoming, (a juvenile center)
for 1 2 years. His heart for missions and calling to be a
part of this great mission field are tremendous benefits to
TCMBA. The love Mr. Vance has for the Lord shows in his leadership
of both students and staff.
"Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created
all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and
calls them each by name. Because of His great power and mighty
strength, not one of them is missing." (Isaiah 40:26)
TCMBA School Administrator
Kayelean Vance
Kayelean is administrator of the TCMBA school. She has nearly
20 years teaching experience in both public and private settings.
With a degree in exceptional child education and a Missouri
State Teaching certificate, Mrs. Vance is an asset to our
academic endeavors. She and her husband Bill are using their
special gifts to help our students reach their potential.
"And we know that in all things God works for the
good of those who love him who have been called according
to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)
TCMBA Public Relations
Reverend Phil Tanner
Phil graduated from Evangel University with a B.A. degree
in Biblical Studies and a minor in History. Phil and his wife,
Cindy (a middle school math teacher), have raised three daughters.
He has been in Pastoral ministry for the past 31 years, served
as sectional youth director 10 years and was Southern Missouri
District Youth Secretary for 6 years. Mr. Tanner served 2
years on the Board of Directors of the Christian Civic Foundation
of Arkansas. He served TCMBA as President of the Board of
Directors before resigning to become a staff member. His desire
is to provide positive influence to assist youth as they make
life decisions.
